The technology needed to decarbonise much of the UK economy already exists. But real progress comes from the ambition to build and maintain those technologies, and take direct action on net-zero goals: which is where this year’s finalists come in.

The edie Energy & Tech Awards arrive in 2026 with a new name and a sharper focus. Where the edie Net-Zero Awards recognised decarbonisation leadership in its broadest sense, this programme deliberately narrows the lens onto the two things that now determine the pace of the transition: the technologies coming to market, and the projects putting them into the ground, onto roofs and inside buildings. Twenty-one categories span three pillars – Innovation & Technology, Delivery & Implementation, and Strategy & Leadership – and reward measurable carbon reduction over stated intent.

Every finalist in this report has gone beyond what compliance or commercial pressure required. Each has committed resource, expertise and effort to work that measurably advances decarbonisation. That combination of initiative and hard work is what these awards set out to recognise.
