E.ON Next
E.ON Next supplies electricity from 100% renewable sources and has spent the past two years developing products intended to make low-carbon technology more affordable for households while easing peak demand on the grid. Next Smart Saver is a mass-market time-of-use tariff; in a trial, 49% of participants reduced consumption during peak hours, cutting peak demand by 16%. A separate nine-month demand-shifting trial involved 66,000 customers. Next Optimise automates solar and battery use, which saves households between £300 and £900 a year. A Coventry battery pilot for fuel-poor households delivered around £255 in annual savings.
Octopus Energy
Octopus Energy combines retail supply, renewable generation and its Kraken software platform, using tariffs that reward customers for drawing power when renewable output is high. Its Generation arm manages a 4.9GW portfolio valued at £7bn. In the 12 months to March 2026, three million customers shifted 10GW of demand away from peak periods through Saving Sessions and Free Electricity campaigns, receiving £11m in bill credits and £3.6m of free power. The Intelligent Octopus Go tariff aggregates 350,000 users into 2.3GW of flexible capacity, up 184% year on year. Octopus also completed over 7,900 heat pump installations under the Boiler Upgrade Scheme.
Pragmatic Consultancy
Pragmatic Consultancy Limited advises energy suppliers on regulatory obligations, industry Code requirements, operational processes and readiness for market change, working through hands-on consultancy, process development, training and readiness reviews rather than one-off recommendations. The firm states plainly that it is not a carbon accounting consultancy; its stated contribution to decarbonisation is helping suppliers build the regulatory and operational foundations needed to offer consumers smarter energy services. It also runs voluntary climate awareness sessions through Climate Fresk. Reported outcomes include improved regulatory understanding, stronger operational processes and long-term client relationships, though no quantified results are given.
VEDA KM (CSRone)
VEDA KM International Corp (CSRone) is a sustainability consultancy that builds governance structures, data standards and internal carbon pricing into client decision-making, with services spanning Scope 1 to 3 greenhouse gas inventories, decarbonisation pathway design and climate disclosure under the TCFD, ISSB and TNFD frameworks. Its healthcare work builds activity-based carbon footprints aligned to ISO 14067 across more than ten core medical services. In one engagement covering nine hospital sites, it unified emissions boundaries across previously siloed departments and prioritised measures for heating, ventilation, steam systems and cold-chain storage. The consultancy reports around 24% verified emissions reduction across 27 client initiatives.
